GOUVERNEUR — Gouverneur firefighters responded to a chicken coop fire Thursday evening.
Gouverneur Fire responded at 7:29 p.m. to the blaze, according to an online statement from the department.
Fire officials were not immediately available for more information. No address was listed for the blaze.
When firefighters arrived on scene there was smoke showing from the structure.
Officials said Engine 17's crew found mostly hay on fire inside the building.
The fire was quickly placed under control with minor damage to the building, officials said.
