NORFOLK -- The First United Methodist Church of Norfolk recently had gutters installed by RSI Roofing of Gouverneur.
The work was funded by a grant from the Rock Charitable Fund that was awarded through the Northern New York Community Foundation.
The congregation of this church has served the Norfolk community since 1868, when the building cornerstone was laid, and the installation of gutters on the building is the beginning of a phased restoration project intended to preserve the brickwork of this 155 year old landmark structure. The Northern New York Community Foundation stewards a variety of competitive grant programs annually that are open to eligible tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties.
