GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur man has been arrested by State Police for possessing and promoting child pornography following a recent investigation involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and child exploitation.
The State Police Troop B Computer Crime Unit, in coordination with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Massena, and the Gouverneur Police Department arrested Robert J. Bush, 50, of Gouverneur.
During the morning hours of Oct. 6, State Police and assisting agencies executed a search warrant at Bush’s residence in Gouverneur.
Bush was charged with one count of New York State Penal Law 263.10 – Promoting an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child; and one count of New York State Penal Law 263.11 – Possessing an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child.
He was arraigned in the Town of Gouverneur Court and was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by State Police Troop B Computer Crime Unit in coordination with Homeland Security Investigations Massena, the Gouverneur Police Department, and the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office.
The New York State Police and its law enforcement partners remain committed to protecting children, investigating crimes involving child sexual abuse material, and holding offenders accountable, the state police said in a statement to media.
