GOUVERNEUR -- A Gouverneur resident was accused of throwing a claw hammer at another vehicle on May 23, causing damage to it, according to village police.
Maxwell S. Newvine, 20, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, felony, on June 14, officers said.
Newvine allegedly threw a metal Estwing claw hammer from the passenger side of a vehicle he was traveling in and the hammer struck the passenger side rear door and passenger side box of a pick-up truck causing damages estimated to be approximately $2,372.77.
The subject was arraigned at Gouverneur Town Court and released on his own recognizance with a return Gouverneur Town Court date.
