Gordon N. "Gordie" Cameron, 76, Waddington

WADDINGTON -- Gordon N. “Gordie” Cameron, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Massena Hospital.

Arrangements are under the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.

Per his wishes there will be no public calling hours.

A graveside service with full military honors will take place on Thursday September 12, 2024, in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waddington.

Born on February 25, 1948, to Alan and Doris (Pike) Cameron in Ogdensburg, NY, Gordie attended school in the Potsdam.

In 1966 he started working at ALCOA in the pot rooms, he was soon drafted in 1967 into the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged as Sergeant in 1973.

He then returned to work at Alcoa and retired as head pot man in 2009, after 36 years.

Gordie enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially Harley Davison, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his children; Jason and his wife, Hope Cameron of Lisbon; Christopher Cameron of Massena; Mark Cameron of Connecticut, Carrie Hart of Norwood; Grandchildren, Ashley and Harleigh Cameron and Ethan Daniels; Great grandchildren, Ashton and Ava; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Cameron in 1985; and brothers, Alan "Jimmy" Jr. and Tommy Cameron.
