MADRID -- GardenShare and The Blue House are inviting the public to a celebration of the harvest season and the abundance of the local food system on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Madrid Community Center.
The Blue House will present a multi-course meal highlighting a multitude of local farmers and food producers, including fresh fall produce from Kent Family Growers, Brandy View Farms, and Martin's Farmstand, meat from C&M Beef/Dairy L.L.C, and cheese from Meier's Artisan Cheese.
To pair with these flavors, diners will sip exclusive small-batch ciders crafted from local apples by Frosty Twig Cider, Canton Apple & Ciders, and Pierrepont Cider.
Alongside the food and drink attendees will hear from Blue House Chef Josh Taillon, GardenShare's Executive Director Carlene Doane, and local producers like Joel Howie of Canton Apples about community collaboration and building a resilient local food system.
Tickets are $110 a person, welcome and drinks will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m.
This event will support GardenShare’s programs to strengthen the local food system and fight food insecurity in the community.
Reserve a seat today by visiting GardenShare.org/events or visiting the organization's Facebook page.
This dinner series is made possible in part by support from sponsors St. Lawrence Health, EDF Renewables and Stauffer Farms LLC.
