BRASHER FALLS -- Frederick M. Groebler, Jr., 61, passed unexpectedly on May 20, 2024.

His family will honor his character with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Pike's Place in Brasher Falls.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

Fred was born on November 11, 1962, in Massena, son of the late Frederick M. and Joan (Marsaw) Groebler, Sr.

A marriage to Tammy Arquiett ended, but he was blessed with two children, Miranda and Troy.

He was hard working, a creative problem solver, and enjoyed anything with a motor.

He spent most of his life running heavy equipment, on a motor cycle, four wheeler, or working on them to keep them running.

He passed his love of riding on to his grandchildren and found much joy in racing around a track with them, his dogs running behind him. His grandchildren, his dogs, and his faith were his greatest joys and comforts.

In life and work his methods were direct, at times abrupt or daring, and usually ending with a memorable story. He loved to good story.

He is survived by a daughter, Miranda Groebler of Brasher Falls and a son, Troy and Erin Groebler of Waddington, his grandchildren, Cordelia, Ellia, Toren, Anthea, Delaney and Gemma, his siblings, Candace Groebler of Brasher Falls, Becky Groebler-Tyman of Pleasant Hill, CA, Dawn and James VanPatten of Walworth, Tammy and Michael Murray of Norfolk, Albert Groebler of Norfolk, and Heather and Anthony Ramsdell of Winthrop, his Uncle Eugene and Audrey Groebler of Parishville, many aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Memories can be shared with his family at www.hammillfh.com.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Upstate New York Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.org.
