MASSENA -- In Loving Memory of Francis Gero • September 17, 1945 - November 07, 2023

Francis Gero 78, passed away November 7, 2023, in Florida with his loved ones by his side.

He was born September 17, 1945, the son of Richard and Mildred(Johnson) Gero.

He married the Love of Life, Beatrice Huggins October 24, 1970.

He retired from Alcoa after 38 years of service. At the time of his retirement, he was Superintendent of Wastewater Management.

Francis has always pushed himself continuing to strive for more and meeting each challenge with determination and dedication. That strong work ethic is something that continues to live on in his daughters.

He was also proud to have served in the Army National Guard for 6 years.

Francis enjoyed working on his classic cars & took great pride in them. We spent many vacations towing those old cars home for him to rebuild.

He loved going to car shows, and always enjoyed following NHRA drag racing. He even did a little drag racing himself back in his younger years!

Francis was a supportive, loving husband and an awesome father to our girls! He was proud of them & enjoyed spending time with them and our families. We will continue to cherish all those beautiful memories!

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bea and his loving daughters, Donna (& Sue)
LaValley of Mooers Forks, NY; Michele Gero (& Afshin Karjoo) of Venice, FL and Nicole Gero of Sarasota, FL. Seven grandchildren: Trisha (Jayson Blondo) & Trevor LaValley; Lila, Anahita & Arman Karjoo; Amelia & Gianna Pesapane. Three great-grandchildren, Kinley & Kohen Blondo & Kezeah LaValley.

He maintained a close relationship with all his siblings who join us in mourning, Beverly (Gero) Malark, Rudy Gero (& Sheryl), Harold (& Beth) Gero, Debbie (Gero) Safford (& Art), John (& Jean) Gero and Doreen Carron, along with several Nieces and Nephews.

Francis also maintained a special bond with the entire Huggins family!

He is predeceased by his parents, Richard & Mildred Gero and brother, Don Carron.

At the Family’s request, a private Celebration of his Life will be held.
