Eric P. Brothers, 38, Winthrop

WINTHROP -- Eric P. Brothers, 38, a devoted husband, loving father, passed away Wednesday June 5, 2024, following an accident in the Town of Stockholm.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

Funeral services to honor Eric's life will be held at Knapps Station Community Church in Norwood on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 11:00 am, with a visitation taking place on Thursday June 13, from 4 – 7 pm at the same location.

Eric was born in Rochester on September 20, 1985, to Rita Brothers and Bruce Pickering.

He graduated from Norwood – Norfolk High School.

For some time, he worked in the Tire Center at Walmart before his current position at BJ’s in Massena as the Tire Center Supervisor.

On July 4th, 2009, Eric married Deborah Dissottle. They were true companions doing everything together including raising their two children, Tyler and Brandon.

Eric's passion for cars and music shone through in his work and hobbies. Known for his playful nature, Eric loved picking on his family and playing pranks, always spreading laughter and joy wherever he went.



A man of integrity and devotion, Eric was a true family man, a good dad and adored his wife, Debbie, who stood as his loyal companion through life's ups and downs.

He was known for his love of Fords and the San Fransico 49ers; however, Eric cherished his family above all else.

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering support.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; two sons, Tyler Schloer, and Brandon Schloer and his girlfriend, Allyson Mierzejeski; a granddaughter, Aubree Mierzejeski; his mother and stepfather, Rita and Daniel Sharlow; his father, Bruce Pickering; brothers and sisters, Peter Sharlow (Jasmine Relling), Vanessa Sharlow (John Ives), Jason Sharlow, Stacey (Scott) Dye, Michelle Pickering (John Storrs), Andrea (Joe) Manino, Amanda Pickering (Nate Wood), and Jeremy Martin (Britany Turner); brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and all of his extended family and friends.

Eric was predeceased by his grandparents, Charlie and Helen Pickering and Elwin and Mable Brothers; his father-in-law, Joseph Dissottle, a niece, Kaitlyn Dissottle, and his stepmother, Lisa Pickering.

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Eric and with this passing being so sudden, we as a family have decided to honor Eric by having a funeral campaign.
