Eleanor (Randall) Cunningham, 100, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Eleanor (Randall) Cunningham, 100, of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Visitation will be held at Frary Funeral Home, 515 Caroline St., Ogdensburg, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from  11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Funeral service will also be held at Frary Funeral Home at 1 PM with Deacon Anthony Pastizzo officiating.

Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Ogdensburg.

Eleanor was born in Ogdensburg, NY to George and Delora (Myre) Randall on March 4, 1924.

She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1943.

She worked at the Cleveland Container Company until her marriage to Daniel Cunningham on May 20, 1948. Together they raised four daughters. Following the death of her husband in 1978, she went to work at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a Library Clerk.

Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Pamela (John) Sovie of Morristown, NY, Darcy Larock, Karen Cunningham, and Patricia Edwards, all of Ogdensburg; nine grandchildren,  Michael (Allison) Sovie, Mark (Kristin) Sovie, Joel (Sara) Sovie, Krista (Randy) Wells, Katelyn (Patrick) LeClair, Eric Larock, Dawn Dibble, Danny (Jenefer) Edwards, and Patrick (Courtney) Edwards; as well as 15 great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Maxwell, Cole, Hannah, Harlow, Jackson, Olivia, Rosalie, Timothy, Joseph, Patricia, Kyrstin, Adeline, Julia, and Emmalie; her siblings, Wayne (Margaret) Randall and Patricia Ball; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Randall; as well as many nieces and nephews. Eleanor is also survived by her beloved dog and constant companion, Charlie.

She is pre-deceased by her husband, Daniel T. Cunningham, and their infant daughter, Eva Mary; her brother, George Randall; brother-in-law, Donald Ball Sr.; and son-in-law, Danny Edwards Sr.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Brittany Bushey and Alisha Baker, who helped provide care and companionship in her later years.

Eleanor leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion to animals, and provided a loving home to countless furry friends throughout her lifetime.

In her honor, memorial donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
