Elaine M. (Bush) LaVare, 74, St. Regis Falls

ST. REGIS FALLS -- Elaine M. (Bush) LaVare, age 74 of Saint Regis Falls passed away on June 10, 2024, at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

Arrangements have been made with Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam for friends and family to gather on Friday, June 14 from 2 to 4 PM.

Born March 18, 1950, in Potsdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Marion
(Stark) Bush.

She married Howard F. LaVare Sr. on July 1, 1967, in Brushton, NY.

Elaine was a stay at home mom for many years, raising her for children. She also worked at a slipper factory for many years, followed by a career as a home health aide helping others.

Elaine and Howard have four children, Wayne (Laura) LaVare of Malone, Howard (Joleen) LaVare Jr of Dickinson Center, Bridget (Dean) Martin of Moira, and Dawn (Patrick) Reardon of Saint Regis Falls.

Elaine was blessed with nine grandchildren; Michael LaVare, Emily Martin, Meagan (John) Cooper, Kyle LaVare, Brandon LaVare, Tyler LaVare, Jacob Reardon, Madison (Anthony) Premo, Autumn Boardway.

She was additionally blessed to have had 11 great grandchildren that she absolutely loved and cherished: Arianna, Maya, Kyng, and Everlie Cooper, Lillian, Alias, and Brantley LaVare, Mason, and Brycen LaVare, Colton LaVare, and Zayne Carr.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Howard LaVare Sr., her brothers, Tim Bush, Kim Bush, and Thomas (Sherri) Bush, and a sister in law, Judy Bush.

She is predeceased by one brother, Marshall Bush, and two sisters, Eileen Sullivan and Valora Waite, and stepson, Ronald Boardway.

Elaine was all about her family. She absolutely loved it when she got to see her grandchildren
and great grandchildren.

She enjoyed putting puzzles together, going for a ride, watching all of her birds outside of her window, and lately, lots of online shopping.

She enjoyed playing Skipbo with her grandchildren (even though they were sure she would cheat).

Her grandkids will always cherish their memories of their visits and playing cards with her.

Elaine was also blessed with a wonderful aid, Renai, who always looked out for her and became good friends with her.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Saint Regis Falls rescue squad for always showing kindness and compassion for Elaine when she needed them.
