MORRISTOWN -- David Lloyd Beckner, born April 11, 1944, in Dayton, OH, died in East Greenwich, RI, on June 7, 2024, at the age of 80.

Although living in Rhode Island at the time of his death, his home was on the St. Lawrence River in Morristown, NY.

Dave’s high school sweetheart, then wife of 56 years, Carol Rae Michaels, predeceased him on February 21, 2024.

He was also predeceased by his parents, Daniel J. Beckner and Ella Phillips, and his brother, Daniel P. Beckner.

Dave is survived by his sister, Kathleen A. Habeeb; his two children, Sandra R. Hebert, wife of Jeffrey, and Michael D. Beckner, husband to Rachel; and his five grandchildren, Margaret A. Hebert, Lucas M. Beckner, Katherine R. Hebert, Jackson D. Beckner, and William D. Hebert.

Dave would tell you that he was a “jack of all trades, master of none” -- he was a Naval officer, salesman, history teacher, and businessman.

His children would tell you that he was a “master” Dad -- he was supportive, tough, inspiring, loving, and always quick with a laugh or a joke.

Dave went through life with a big grin on his face. He and his smile will be missed.

Dave believed in supporting America’s veterans, and we invite you to make a donation in his memory to the American Legion Charities.
