I am writing to express my strong support for James R. “Jamie” Amo, Republican conservative candidate for St. Lawrence County Coroner.

I have known Jamie for several years. During that time, I have found him to be kind, caring, compassionate, and deeply committed to serving his community.

Born and raised in Ogdensburg, Jamie has dedicated much of his life to helping others. He served for more than 20 years with the City of Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, where he held several important roles, including EMT, CPR instructor, first-aid instructor, and AED (automated external defibrillator) instructor.

He also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Heuvelton Fire Department.

Jamie further demonstrated his commitment to public service through 10 years of service on the City of Ogdensburg Zoning Board of Appeals.

His experience is especially relevant to the responsibilities of county coroner. Jamie assisted the late Dr. Hugh Frame, a former medical examiner in Ogdensburg, with postmortem examinations and coroner calls. 

Through that experience, he gained firsthand knowledge of the professionalism, attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality required when handling sensitive matters.

Jamie possesses the qualities necessary to serve St. Lawrence County as Coroner. He is a man of integrity, empathy, and compassion. I am confident that he will respond promptly when called, treat every situation with professionalism and respect, maintain confidentiality, pay close attention to detail, and complete all required documentation accurately and thoroughly.

For decades, Jamie has served his community in roles where people have depended on him during difficult and stressful circumstances. He is someone you can count on. 

I not only endorse James R. Amo for St. Lawrence County Coroner, but I also encourage voters to consider his extensive record of service, experience, and dedication when making their choice.
