MASSENA – The Color Run event hosted by Liberty on Saturday, Sept. 14, raised $1,840 for the St. Lawrence County Suicide Awareness Coalition.
Communities, organizations, businesses, school districts and families took part in the Chalk the Walk event from Sept. 14-21.
A little more than 100 people participated in the event held at the John Story Trail at Massena High School.
The money will assist the coalition in providing education, training and services to support people to try to reduce the number of deaths by suicide in the county. Raising awareness is key to prevention and getting people the help they need and to realize they are not alone.
