Clara Smith, 93, Formerly of Massena

COLORADO - Clara Smith, age 93, formerly of Massena, NY, passed away at Northglenn Heights in Northglenn, CO. surrounded by her family. The funeral services will be held at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 11:00 am, with Pastor Judy Van Kennen officiating. A private Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Brushton, NY.

Clara was born on February 12, 1931, in St. Regis Falls, to Edward and Mary (Deon) Caskinette. She graduated from Potsdam in 1949. On September 24, 1949, she married her husband Howard, who predeceased her on May 21, 2001. She was a homemaker, raising their two daughters.

She is survived by her daughters: Lynn Ayala of Westminister, CO. and Susan and Jorge Garcia of Fort Myers, FL. Two granddaughters: Crystal Carter and her husband Neal Hirsch and Jennifer and her husband Nathen House; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Brandon, Noah, Coral, Devin, Marah, and great-great grandchildren; Maxwell, Dalila, Kaylor, Bentley, Noah Jr., Mya, Vickie and Thomas. Her siblings include Carl and his wife Sarah Caskinette of Norfolk, Theresa Perry, and Beatrice Darrow, both of Florida, Wayne and his wife Tanis Caskinette of Niagara Falls, NY and Terry Caskinette of Maine. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by a sister, Rita Elder, and a half-sister, Bonnie Green.
