Charles E. "Chuck" Farrell, 79, South Colton

SOUTH COLTON -- Graveside services for Charles E. “Chuck” Farrell, 79, a resident of the Essex Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Elizabethtown, NY, and formerly of South Colton, will be held in the spring in the Stark Cemetery, South Colton.

Mr. Farrell passed away Friday afternoon, January 5, 2024, at the Essex Center.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth, also of Elizabethtown, two sons, Lawrence, FL, and Randy, Ogdensburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, William, Massachusetts and two sisters, Yvonne Stevens, Canton, and Christine Rolfe, Ogdensburg as well as several nieces and nephews.

Chuck was pre-deceased by his parents, two brothers, Bernard and Wayne, and two sisters, Diane Bromley and Sharon Whitcomb.

Born in Ogdensburg, NY on July 12, 1944, to the late Charles and Beverly Robinson Farrell, Chuck attended high school and married Elizabeth N. Free in October of 1961.

Chuck worked as a Machinist for Standard Shade Roller for 33 years and then took a position with Corning Incorporated, where he worked for an additional 15 years before he retired.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and scuba diving.

He was an active member with the Barney Pond Hunting Club and later, the Diamond Sportsman Club in South Colton.

Chuck and Elizabeth were inseparable, as they did everything together and enjoyed time spent with family, friends, and club members.
