Celebration of Life for Ernest J. McGregor, 79, Norfolk

NORFOLK-- A Celebration of Life gathering for Ernest J. McGregor, 79, a resident of 8501 St. Highway 56, Norfolk, will be held at a later date to be announced. You may also call 315-705-8652 for further details. Mr. McGregor passed away on June 21, 2024 at the Massena Memorial Hospital. Ernest is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha, Norfolk; a son, Ernest McGregor Jr, Norfolk and a daughter, Angela Marie McGregor, Massena; his five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Nancy and Fred Gary, Canandaigua, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. Ernest was pre-deceased by his parents Ernest and Mildred, two brothers, Leon and Francis and four sisters, Daisy Castle, Goldie LaBarge, Lena McGregor and an infant sister Helen McGregor.
Born in Stockholm on March 24, 1945 to the late Ernest and Mildred Bell McGregor, Ernest attended Norwood-Norfolk Central School and later married Martha Anne Weeks in 1968. He owned and operated McGregor’s Plumbing and Heating for 30 years. In his retirement years, he along with his wife operated the Raquette River Campground in Norfolk. Ernest was very handy and enjoyed puttering around and also enjoyed carpentry and woodworking.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Brasher Falls with Rev. Mark Riley presiding. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com. The Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk is serving the family of Ernest J. McGregor.
