Cathy Ann Snyder, 73, Lisbon

LISBON -- Cathy Ann Snyder, 73, of Lisbon, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, October 4, 2026 where she was surrounded by her loving family, while under the care of St. Lawrence Valley Hospice.

Cathy was born in Ogdensburg, NY, a daughter of Phillip Cota Sr. and Alberta (Sovie) Cota.

She graduated from Lisbon Central School and later attended Canton ATC. Although a marriage ended in divorce, Cathy was blessed with six sons.

She later found the love and companionship with Peter Caughey Jr., whom predeceased her in March of 2012.

Cathy enjoyed quilting, crafts, creating Hallmark Studios greeting cards and homemade baby blankets for her family, turquoise, frogs, elephants, hunting and fishing, gardening, canning, her wide variety of fruit trees, photography, her faith and her dogs and cats. Her most cherished time was spent being a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Cathy is survived by her six sons, Rick Snyder Jr. (Tricia), Matthew Snyder, James (Sherri) Snyder, Michael (Gina) Snyder, Gabriel Snyder (Crystal) and Joshua Snyder (Carrie Durham), grandchildren Caitlin Silsby (Jesse ), Elias Snyder (Emberly Curran), Nicholas Snyder (Danielle Simser), Cynthia (Nathaniel) LaBrake, Sarah Lynch, Emily Lynch, William Lynch (Emily LaGarry), Zach Snyder, Harley (Tyler) Staggs, Zayne Snyder, Cody Snyder and Zoe Snyder and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother Phillip Cota Jr. and a sister Sharon (Dale) Wilson.

In addition to the love of her life Peter Caughey Jr., Cathy was predeceased by her mother Alberta Cota and a sister-in-law Jacqueline Cota.

Cathy was also predeceased by her beloved dogs, Cleopatra and Elvira.

Calling hours for Cathy will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the Lisbon Wesleyan Church, where a funeral service will commence at 11:00 am.
