FINE – Carol Stumpf, age 91, passed away on July 21, 2024, at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown.

Calling hours will be held at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the East Pitcairn Cemetery.

Carol was born on August 12, 1932, in Rockville Center, NY to the late Ernst and Helen (Fitting) Stumpf.

She lived in Freeport, Long Island, NY until moving to Fine in 2013 to be near her brother.

She had worked as a clerk for Doubleday Publishing in Garden City, NY for 7 years and for the Nassau County Department of Health for almost 35 years before her retirement.

Carol enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting, played the organ and was a member of the Freeport African Violet Society and the Freeport Community Choral Group.

Her survivors include her brother, Henry “Hank” of Fine; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, a brother, Ernest “Jake” Stumpf, and a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Stumpf.
