North Country This Week
CANTON — Appointments and policies for 2021 were approved at the annual reorganizational meeting of the village of Canton held Monday, Dec. 7.
Trustee Carol Pynchon was again appointed as deputy mayor. Other appointments included Gerry Ducharme as village attorney, village clerk Sally Noble as treasurer/registar, Cara Adams as deputy clerk, Meagan Mousaw as deputy treasurer and Linda Casserly as village historian.
Village committee and board committee appointments were renewed.
The village board set the regular meetings for 2021 for the third Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
North Country This Week and Northern New York Newspapers were designated the village’s official newspapers for printing legal advertising.
Community Bank N.A. was again named the village’s official depository of village funds. The board also approved its insurance blanket bond policy, its investment policy and the advance approval of claims process.
Other approvals included the fair housing law affirmation, Affirmative Action Plan Reaffirmation, the mileage allowance rate, the employee travel reimbursement policy.
The board also approved attendance by village officials and employees to professional development seminars and workshops in 2021, and approved the village’s annual procurement policy.
