Betty J. Mackey, 73, Norwood

NORWOOD --  Betty J. Mackey, 73, of North Main Street, peacefully passed away on July 16, 2024 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Betty was born on January 18, 1951 in Potsdam, NY, the daughter of the late Allan and Mary (Westerdick) Ramsay. She graduated from Potsdam High School in 1970 as well as the Watertown School of Business. Betty later married Patrick Mackey on April 11, 1981 in Potsdam, NY.

Betty cherished the time she spent going to the casino with family.  She also enjoyed watching scary movies, playing games on her tablet and most importantly, spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow up.

Betty is survived by her husband, Patrick of Norwood; her children, Allan (Jenn) Mackey of Jefferson, GA, Patricia Mackey and fiancé, Dave Williams of St. Albans, Vermont; three grand-children, Cameron, Wyatt and Maverick; her siblings, Linda (Richard) Russell of Lawrenceville and Mary Lynn (Roland) Berger of Madrid; her brothers, Steven (Radeem) Ramsay of Las Vegas, Nevada, Scott Ramsay of Potsdam, Roger (Jeanette) Ramsay of Oklahoma, and James (Tammy) Ramsay of Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Williams, Ruth Wallace, Grace Richards, Janet Bush and Shirley Labaff; and her brothers, Sherman, Ed, Gene and Larry Ramsay.

There will be no services at this time, a celebration of life will take place in September.
