Anne is survived by her children, Susan (Paul) Binion, Bill (Kathy) Binion, Diane Binion, Shirley (Troy) Sample, Ted (Linda) Binion, Ed (Dawn) Binion, and Patrick (Ella) Binion; ten grandchildren, Eric Smith, Sondra (Mike) Roy, Chris (Tiffany), Kevin (Kayla), Drake Sample, Amanda (Nicholas Sobczak), Adam, Kyle, Devyn, and Quinn; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph (Darlene) Moore and a sister-in-law Donna Moore and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Frank, two sons, John and Robert, a brother John E. Moore, a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Douglas Ahrens and all Frank’s siblings and their spouses, Irene, Ralph (Betty), Lyle (Dorothy), Leon, and Earl (Ginny).

Anne was born on January 1, 1934, in Ogdensburg, NY, the daughter of the late Ernest J. and Alberta I. (Boyer) Moore.

She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1952.

Anne married Frank S. Binion on September 12, 1953, at Notre Dame Church in Ogdensburg, NY with the Reverand Robert Giroux officiating.

Anne was first employed by NY Telephone Company as an operator.

As her children grew, she found employment with Ames, Grants and Kinney’s Drugs and later went on to work for Lisbon Central School as a Teacher’s Assistant where she retired in 1996.

Anne was beloved by the students as a substitute grandmother, bringing joy when she dressed up as a real witch at Halloween or Mother Goose to read stories and nursery rhymes.

She made going to the library fun for children, impacting generations. After retiring, she volunteered at the SMDA Catholic School library.

Anne’s family was very special to her, and she showed it in so many ways. Every holiday and birthday in the Binion household was an event with decorations and special treats.

She attended innumerable sporting events, school plays and concerts for her children and grandchildren. Anne always looked forward to the summer family reunions when all the children and grandchildren gathered in Lisbon to spend time with her and each other.

She enjoyed hugging babies, handing out candy and treats to children and adults, playing card and board games with her husband to see who was doing dishes that night, watching Yankee games, old movies and TV shows.

She had a beautiful voice and sang in the choir. Sunday was a special day for Anne, spending the day with Ed and his family, playing SkipBo and eating a delicious homemade meal.

Above all, she was devoted to her Catholic faith. She will be greatly missed.

The Binion family would like to thank all the staff at St. Joseph’s Home that gave our mom special care and kindness.

Donations may be made in Anne’s memory to St. Joseph’s Foundation, 950 Linden St., Ogdensburg NY 13669.
