Andreas Y. "Andy" Eschmann, 63, Colton

COLTON -- Calling hours for Andreas Y. “Andy” Eschmann, 63, a resident of 4886 St. Highway 56, Colton, will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton from 11-2 p.m.

A prayer service will be offered by Rev. Joseph Giroux at 2 p.m. followed by a luncheon at the Colton Amvets from 2-5 p.m.

Andy passed away tragically at his home on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

Andy is survived by his longtime companion, Laura L. Richards, Colton; his two sons, Shawn and Karla Eschmann, Travelers Rest, SC; Zach and Sarah Eschmann, Oneida, NY; his two beloved grandchildren, Skyler and Lucas Eschmann; a brother, Wilfried and Paula Eschmann Jr., Canton and a sister, Marianne Eschmann, Canton as well as several nieces and nephews.

Andy was pre-deceased by his parents, Wilfried and Lane.

Born in Zurich, Switzerland on March 12, 1961 to the late Wilfried Lane Steiner Eschmann, Andy attended Canton Central School.

He worked on the family farm for several years and then became employed at the Colton-Pierrepont Central School as a custodian and bus driver, where he has been a devoted employee for nearly twenty years.

A marriage to Lindy Eschmann later ended in divorce.

In his spare time, Andy loved to tinker and putter around, work on his many household projects, he enjoyed traveling and going camping and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.

Andy was good natured and a very generous person, always willing to help others and give to people.
