Amy Grace Hazen, 55, North Lawrence

NORTH LAWRENCE -- Amy Grace Hazen, 55, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2024.

Her family will honor her life with a celebration of life to be held on Saturday, September 21st at 4pm at the Nicholville Fire Dept.

Amy was born on November 26, 1968, in Potsdam,  daughter of the late Earl T. and Bonnie J. (Premo) Hazen. 

She graduated from St. Lawrence Central School in 1987.  She was inducted into the SLC Athletic Hall of Fame. 

She played softball, soccer and basketball. She earned a scholarship to play softball at Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY. 

Amy was presently the kitchen manager for PACES at SUNY Potsdam, where she has worked for 36 years.

She enjoyed cooking, camping, playing cards, taking her dad for rides through the mountains, spending time at Lake Ozonia and getting her toes in the sand at the beach.

Amy is survived by her son, Nicholas Hazen and his girlfriend, Mikayla Brockway of North Lawrence, her siblings, Lee and Kamie Hazen of Nichoville, Holly Hazen and Ginger Hawhee of Central Square and Heidi Hazen-Forte of Central Square.  Her nieces and nephews, whom she was very close to; Austin and Morgan Forte, Aaron Forte and Morgan Ransom, Michelle Sprankle, Eric Hazen and Aleesha LaBounty, Leanna Hazen and Kenny Schneller.  Great nieces and nephews; Brynlee Forte, Brody Hazen, Harper Hazen, Cooper Schneller, Carson Schneller and Thunder. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a great niece, Aubreah Hazen.
