Adrian John Vielhauer, 76, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG - Adrian John Vielhauer age 76, of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away September 14, 2024, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Notre Dame Church in Ogdensburg at 1:00 PM with Rev. Joseph Morgan and Rev. James Shurtleff officiating.

Prior to the Mass, friends and family are invited to Calling Hours at Fox & Murray Funeral Home from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM.

Burial will take place after the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fox & Murray Funeral Home.

Born on April 2, 1948 in Ogdensburg, NY, Adrian was the son of the late William H. and Genevieve (Tyo) Vielhauer.

On May 7, 1966, Adrian married the love of his life, Carol Joanette at the Notre Dame Church, with Rev. Roland Menard officiating.

Adrian graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy that same year and went on to serve in the United States Navy Reserves, transitioning to active duty in January 1967. After his service, he earned his Electrical Degree from Canton ATC.

Adrian enjoyed a distinguished career in the electrical field, dedicating 26 years to IBEW Local 910 in Watertown, NY, and later owning and operating Aid’s Electric for two decades.

His strong Catholic faith was evident through his active involvement in the community; he was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, a Past Commander of the DAV, and served on the Notre Dame Church Council, where he also performed electrical maintenance.

Adrian's passion for music was a defining aspect of his life—he played drums with the Comets for 26 years and shared his talent with the Maple Valley Boys in country music.

In addition to his musical pursuits, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and camping.

Mr. Vielhauer is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Vielhauer of Ogdensburg; his daughter, Tammy Drummond and her husband, Paul of Ogdensburg; his son, Adrian Vielhauer and his wife, Pam of Bethel, ME; his brothers, William (Kathy) Vielhauer of Ogdensburg and Lawrence Vielhauer of Ogdensburg; his sisters, Cindy (Bub) Lashomb and Candace Vielhauer both of Florida; his beloved grandchildren, Nathan Drummond and his companion, Ashley Forrest of Peoria, AZ, Lindsay Gotham and her husband, Jory of Hurricane, WV; Erich Vielhauer and his wife, Kellie of Colorado Springs, CO, and Reyna Sargent and her husband, C.J. of Sterling, MA; step-grandchildren, Kathleen Parr & her companion, Dayne Valek of Baltimore, MD and Claudia Parr of Canton, NY; his great grandchildren, Braxton Gotham, Adelina Vielhauer, Blakley Vielhauer, and Raelyn Sargent; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Adrian was predeceased by his parents, William H. and Genevieve Vielhauer.
