In Loving Memory of Adam Elek Murray
December 17, 1982 - February 4, 2024

WINTHROP -- It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Adam Elek Murray, 41, a beloved son, brother, and friend. Adam's life was cut short on February 4, 2024, due to an ongoing heart condition.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop where calling hours will be held Thursday February 8th, from 4 – 6 PM with a closing service offered at 6 PM.

Born on December 17, 1982, in Massena, NY, Adam was the cherished son of Mark and Susan (Gladding) Murray.

Growing up in the close-knit community of Winthrop, Adam was known for his gentle soul and kind heart. He always had a warm smile and a caring demeanor that touched the lives of all who knew him. Adam was free spirited, had a great sense of humor and it was easy to get to know him.

Despite facing challenges along his journey, Adam's spirit remained unyielding. He pursued his education, obtaining his High School Diploma from St. Lawrence Central School in 2002 and though his occupation may not have defined him, his presence left a lasting impact on those he encountered.

He enjoyed the peace of the outdoors, fishing, deer hunting, camping, traveling, and gardening. He had a green thumb, truly enjoyed sunsets and was known to always take the scenic route.

Adam is survived by his parents, Mark and Sue Murray of Winthrop; his sister, Elizabeth Murray and her companion, Matthew Gilmore of North Lawrence; nieces and nephews, Adrianne, Aiden, Bella, Grant, and Bennett; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

While we grieve the loss of Adam, we also celebrate the beautiful and vibrant life he lived.

In his memory, let us honor his legacy by spreading kindness, love, and laughter in our own lives, just as he did during his time with us. May his gentle soul find eternal peace.

Memorial contributions can be made in Adam’s honor to the American Heart Association.
