CANTON – The 2025 North Country Sustainability Day & Green Living Fair will be held March 29 from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at SUNY Canton’s Dana Hall. The event is free and open to all.
The Green Living Fair portion of the event, which is seeking exhibitors, will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nonprofit groups, government agencies, and for-profit exhibitors interested in providing a booth, workshop, or poster display are encouraged to register for this event by March 7. (bit.ly/GreenLivingEvents)
Local universities, SUNY Canton, SUNY Potsdam, Clarkson, and St. Lawrence, are teaming up with Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County and both the Canton Sustainability Committee and Potsdam Climate Smart Community Initiative to organize this informational event.
This event’s exhibits, workshops, and talks will be an inspirational way to learn how to save money with energy efficiency and renewable energy, and to learn more about sustainable living such as eating local foods, composting, recycling, and reducing material goods, all guided by local energy contractors, farmers, and community organizers. A Green Jobs Panel will be a highlight along with other panels and a hybrid and EV car show that participants meet on their way inside. Raffles, demonstrations, posters, and hands-on activities for both children and adults add to the fun.
Organizers are inviting local food, energy businesses, and environmental organizations to exhibit at the Green Living Fair. If you provide products, services, tools and/or information to assist people in living more sustainably, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and building resilience to changing conditions, and would like to be an exhibitor, go to.bit.ly/GreenLivingEvents and see the “Register” menu button to register or find more information. Please register before March 7 to be included in future publicity.
Sponsors and co-organizers of the event are SUNY Canton Automotive, SUNY Canton Admissions, Canton College Foundation, SUNY Potsdam, St. Lawrence University, Clarkson University, Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County, the Canton Sustainability Committee, Potsdam Climate Smart Community Initiatives, Brookfield Renewable, and EDF Renewables. North Country Public Radio is the media sponsor.
