2024 Craft, Food & Wine Open-Air Market scheduled for Sept. 21 in Madrid

MADRID — The 2024 Craft, Food & Wine Open-Air Market featuring more than 80 vendors offering leather goods, food, spirits, art and other handmade products, will take place Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce event will be held at the St. Lawrence Power & Equipment Museum (SLPEM), 1755 NY-345.

Admission is $5 cash per person (12 & under free). Attendance is free for the last hour of the event from 3-4 p.m., thanks to sponsorship by the St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union.

This is the 5th year the chamber has presented the outdoor, open-air market which is modeled after the Craft, Food & Wine show usually held during the holiday season at Clarkson's Cheel Arena or at SUNY Potsdam's Maxcy Hall.

The new parking area and entrance at the museum grounds will be near Fort Tribute and entry will be $5 per guest. SLPEM Volunteers will offer free transportation services via golf carts as needed. Rides can be requested at the admissions table.

Museum buildings will be open for visitors to look at in between shopping at the vendors.

There will be several food options for lunch at this year’s event.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, and ice cream will be sold at the SLPEM pavilion. Smoked meats and BBQ items will be sold by the Morgan’s Munchies food truck. Taco and burrito bowls from the Taco Time food truck will be available as well.

DJ Vinny from B99.3FM will broadcast live from the market from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Grass fed meats, fragrances, apple cider, soap, beauty products, beads, wine, spirits seasonal crafts and art, handspan textiles and other products will be available from dozens of vendors.
