The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department reports three new positive cases of COVID-19 in the county, bringing the total to 180.
That's out of 1,549 people tested as of April 28, the most recent date for which data was available.
Eight people are hospitalized and two have died of the disease, public health said.
"St. Lawrence County is still seeing an increase in cases, and want to stress that we have not reached our peak. It is very important all residents continue to stay home as much as possible, wear a face covering and stay 6 feet away from others when venturing out for groceries, medical care, or work, wash hands with soap for 20 seconds often, and clean & disinfect commonly touched surfaces regularly," the Public Health Department said in a news release.
Testing is being done through both St. Lawrence Health Systems and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Testing is by appointment only. Call the hotline numbers below between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. if you have symptoms or feel you should be tested:
