St. Lawrence Public Health reports 100 new cases of COVID-19 since Saturday

St. Lawrence County Public Health reports 100 new cases of COVID-19 between Saturday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Dec. 27.

Total deaths in the county now number 158, Public Health said.

COVID by the numbers in St. Lawrence County:

• Total number of confirmed positives to-date, 17,215

• Active cases, 417

• Released from isolation, 16,640

• Hospitalizations, 19

• Total number of tests performed to date, 487,265

• Percentage of fully vaccinated in St. Lawrence County, 58

• Percentage of St. Lawrence County positivity rate, 7.98

• Case rate per 100K, 431.59

The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is currently holding COVID-19 Vaccination clinics.

Testing is being done by the below places. Some urgent cares and provider offices are doing performing testing. Testing is by appointment only.

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center and Health Services reported 44 new case of COVID-19 in Akwesasne’s southern portion since Dec. 21. Twenty-five community members have been released from isolation, but there remain 51 total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. There are two (2) individuals hospitalized, but are not considered active cases due to the amount of time under the hospital’s care. There is no update on the 32 community members in quarantine at home to prevent further spread.

Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services is conducting COVID-19 PCR testing on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. at their main campus located at 404 State Route 37. Use the road located across from McGee Road and follow the signs for testing garage.

Akwesasne residents and employees can also schedule a free COVID-19 PCR test by contacting Mountain Medical at the following locations on Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the weekends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
