MASSENA -- Spring cleanup dates for the town this year will be May 10 and 11 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and May 12 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Town residents, with a form of identification, will be able to bring household waste like furniture to the transfer station for free disposal.
Highway Superintendent Frank Diagostino said people should not bring garbage.
This is a separate program from village cleanup, which is done at curbside.
"This is a huge improvement over what we were doing and it saves a lot of money. We went from $50,000 to $60,000 to $9,000 in labor costs," Diagostino said.
