OSWEGATCHIE -- A Mooers man faces multiple charges after officers responded to a report of shots fired, according to NY State Police.
The complaint, made to troopers May 10 at 11:16 p.m., reported a burglary at a residence on State Highway 812 in the town of Oswegatchie. The caller reported someone broke in brandishing a hand gun and fired one round, which struck a cell phone. The suspect then left the area on a motorcycle.
Suspect Michael J. Willete, 60, of Mooers, was subsequently stopped on State Route 122 in Westville, operating a 2011 Suzuki motorcycle, troopers said.
Willette was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing, second-degree reckless endangerment, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Willette was arraigned in the Town of Massena Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail on $15,000 cash bail, or $30,000 bond.
State police were assisted by Ogdensburg City Police.
This case remains under investigation, police said.
