Salaries approved for Village of Potsdam management, non-union personnel

POTSDAM — The village board has approved annual salaries for its management and non-union personnel.

Trustees and the mayor approved pay scales at its Monday, May 15 meeting. The board also passed several other budget-related resolutions at the meeting, including stipends for the rescue squad and fire department.

The annual salaries will be effective at the first pay period following June 1.

Salaries include:

• Recreation director, Trey Smutz, $58,817

• Village administrator, Greg Thompson, $94,030 salary/stipend

• Police chief, Mark Murray, $91,990

• Village clerk and registrar, Lori Queor, $20,672

• Director of planning and development, Fred Hanss, $81,098

• Village treasurer, Isabelle Gates-Shult, $63,000

• Code enforcement officer, Lisa Newby, $54,150

• Village clerk and registrar, Georgina Scott, $53,518

• Deputy clerk and registrar, J. Kastner, $49,732

The board authorized the mayor to execute an agreement between the village and Potsdam Volunteer Rescue, Inc. for the period of June 1 through May 31, 2024. The squad will be paid $35,000 for services during this period.

Similarly the mayor was also authorized to execute an agreement with the Potsdam Fire Department for the same period. The department is to receive $10,250 for the period.

The village board also authorized the treasurer to levy $72,637.14 in delinquent water fees, $71,990.90 in delinquent sewer fees and $12,506.25 in delinquent trash and accounts receivable. The total owed to the village is $157,134.29.

Finally, the board authorized the treasurer to modify the existing 2022-23 budget expense lines for the fiscal year that ends May 31 by transferring money between expense accounts as needed to keep budget lines from being over-extended. No additional expenses or revenues are to be added to the budget.
