RUSSELL — A local man and running enthusiast showcased his athletic prowess Sunday, Oct. 8, at the 45th Chicago Marathon.
Sean McGrath, a local school teacher from Russell, earned a commendable official time of 3:28:37.
The 2023 Chicago Marathon, a Platinum Label event, is the fifth of the six World Marathon Majors of the year.
Beyond its stature in the marathon circuit, this year's race also played host to the age group world championships, making McGrath's accomplishment even more noteworthy, said friend Jacob Yaeger.
Training for such an esteemed event demands dedication, resilience, and an unyielding spirit. McGrath's remarkable achievement is a testament to his unwavering commitment, rigorous training regime, and the boundless support he received from friends, coworkers, and family.
