POTSDAM – Reachout of St. Lawrence County is seeking volunteers as telephone crisis counselors for its 24-hour crisis intervention and informational hotline.
The hotline is free and provides free nonjudgmental listening services to residents of the North Country.
Volunteers are available 24/7 to answer calls for help and to provide information and support. When someone is having a crisis, a warm person on the other end of the line can help sort out confusing and overwhelming issues.
Celebrating its 40th year, Reachout of St. Lawrence County, the only local 24hr. suicide and crisis information hotline, is accepting applications for its February volunteer training class.
Apply at reachouthotline.org by Tuesday, Feb. 25 for the training weekend beginning Friday, Feb. 28.
