POTSDAM -- In 2018, the world’s top scientists warned we have only 12 years to transform our economy to avoid catastrophic environmental breakdown within our lifetimes, said a show announcement from North Country Matters.

The Sunrise Movement is using the Road to a Green New Deal Town Halls to give citizens all across the country an opportunity to hear from their neighbors about how the Green New Deal will improve their lives and address the climate crises.

North Country Matters guests Ginger Storey-Welch, North Country 350 Alliance, and Potsdam Town Councilwoman Toni Kennedy are the organizers behind the North Country Green New Deal Town Hall on May 29 at the Potsdam Town Hall from 6-8 pm. They talk about what is needed to meet the goals of the Green New Deal and how the Town Hall will help to inform citizens and call for action.
