POTSDAM -- The town council has set its next meeting for Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. to discuss with village board members the joint town/village recreation budget for fiscal 2019.
The town's fiscal year is January to December, and the council will be adopting its budget next month. The village's fiscal year is June to May, so whatever Recreation Department funding is agreed to at the Oct. 23 meeting will be binding not only for the town in its 2019 budget but also for the village's next budget to be adopted in the spring.
After that meeting the Town Council convenes to discuss changes to their proposed budget as they move through the process.
Following that, the board plans to adopt its tentative budget and set a budget hearing date, probably Nov. 8.
