POTSDAM -- There continues to be a great need for knitted baby sweaters and blankets in Malawi, Africa, said a press release from the First Presbyterian Church of Potsdam
The church’s knitting group is once again knitting and collecting sweaters and blankets for the Malawi Crisis Nursery.
The group invites the community to participate with this mission.
Hand-knitted or crocheted sweaters size newborn to two years old and blankets to cover babies of this age are needed, the group said.
The group will be knitting and collecting throughout the winter and shipping them out in May, just in time for Malawi’s winter season.
Knitters are welcome to join the group at First Presbyterian Church, 42 Elm St., on Mondays at 3 p.m. to knit; or call at 315-265-5325 and the group can arrange to collect finished donations anytime before the first of May 2020.
