CANTON – It was reported at Wednesday night’s village board meeting that Neo-Nazi stickers were recently discovered on poles on Goodrich Street.
Deputy Mayor Carol Pynchon told board members the issue was brought to her attention.
“This is really unsettling. We don’t want anyone seeing this, especially our children,” she said.
Canton Police Chief James Santimaw said the stickers were first reported to Patrick Gagnon, director of Safety and security at St. Lawrence University. The stickers have since been removed.
Pynchon suggested that if any additional sightings are discovered for people to contact the police chiefs directly.
“It doesn’t seem like anything far reaching,” stated Santimaw, saying patrols will monitor the area.
