OGDENSBURG — State police apprehended an Ogdensburg man who had fled a local hospital following arrest Saturday.
Police put out a press release Sunday seeking the public’s assistance locating 36-year-old Victor R. Gardner , who was arrested following a burglary investigation.
Troopers said they charged Gardner with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief, petit larceny and possession of burglar tools. An investigation revealed Gardner had attempted to commit a burglary in the Ogdensburg area, police said.
He was being released on appearance tickets when he complained of chest pains and was transported by troopers to Claxton-Hepburn hospital in Ogdensburg.
While he was being treated by hospital staff, he left before he could be transferred to parole, officers said.
Gardner was remanded to St. Lawrence County jail and additional charges are pending, troopers said.
