CANTON – The North Country Art Teachers Association held its third annual K-8 Regional Art show March 28 the at St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES.
The exhibit features artworks from 16 districts in St. Lawrence County. About 500 people attended the art show opening, where there was live music, dessert, and face painting.
“I think it’s really awesome that we get to show off everyone’s talent,” said Krista Burns, fifth grader, Norwood-Norfolk Central.
The show will be on display until the week of April 24.
Award recipients in fifth and sixth grade:
• Best of show: Cooperative Color Wheel by Sydney Francis, Wyatt Newman, Paul Cheng, Nick Locy, Stephanie Stone, and Emma Benware from Canton CSD
• First place: My Mola by Etta Coburn from Canton CSD
• Second place: Delaunay Design by Destiny Peretta from Morristown CSD
• Third place: Forest Sunrise by Mariah Crump from St. Lawrence CSD
Award recipients in seventh and eighth grade:
• Best of show: Treading Water by Keely Towne from Potsdam CSD
• First place: Inferno by Savannah Walker from Potsdam CSD
• Second place: Day Dreamer by Anabell Smith-Goolden from Norwood-Norfolk CSD
• Third place: Music by Alexis Rice from Madrid-Waddington CSD
