NORWOOD — A 10-year old Norfolk girl has placed a free library in the park in Norwood. Vanessa Stanka spends a lot of time reading and she also loves to volunteer and help others.
“So she thought, why not combine her two passions. Stanka saw a few free libraries around and thought she would like to place one somewhere so she started looking to see where it would be a good fit.
Her mother called the mayor and was granted permission to place one in the park.
With the help of a friend they had a library box built.
She had a little ribbon-cutting ceremony to start off her library.
The library is called Vroses free library.
Everyone is welcome to take a book and if they wish to keep this library running they are free to place books in it.
Stanka and her mother will check the library a few times a week to be sure there are books in it for all to enjoy.
