He is working in the Emergency departments at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Gouverneur Hospital, and Massena Hospital.
Dr. Reed earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic (DO) Medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, PA; and completed his residency through the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira.
Prior to going back to school to obtain his DO degree, Dr. Reed worked in Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Emergency Department as a Nurse Aide and then as a Ward Clerk. He noted this region of Northern New York holds a very special place in his heart.
“Upstate New York is a medically underserved area and continues to have a growing need for healthcare professionals. Being a native of the North Country, I understand this need and want to help bridge the gap for my home community,” Dr. Reed said.
“There is a strong sense of community in this area and I find inspiration in the collaborative efforts of healthcare professionals, community organizations, and dedicated individuals working together to improve the health and well-being of the region’s residents,” he said.
As an Emergency Medicine provider, Dr. Reed conducts physical examinations, diagnoses illnesses, prescribes medications, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, and performs suturing and castings.
