POTSDAM -- Local artist Sara Lynch is seeking design suggestions for small-scale murals around the town of Potsdam.
Lynch is looking to hear from people of all ages about what they think would add fun and funny artistic details to their community.
Murals will be on publicly owned property including the brown street sign on the corner of Garden and Market Street, The pipework, door, and steps going into the back of the town court, a bench on Fall Island, the Potsdam Public Library, the Potsdam Museum, and the Pine Street Arena.
Designs will be small, ranging from six inches to a few feet in size. Suggestions for future sites and designs are also welcome.
Designs can be sent to her via email at saraelynch@gmail.com, her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SaraLynchArtist/, and drawings can be left at the front desk of the Potsdam Public Library.
Lynch will use the suggestions and designs she receives to determine what art is created.
To fund this project, Lynch wrote a grant to receive funds from the Decentralization Program, A regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, which is administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
