HEUVELTON — The American Red Cross provided emergency aid to four people following a multifamily fire Monday afternoon on State Highway 58.
The Red Cross provided financial assistance for necessities such as food and clothing to two adults and two children, ages 12 and 10.
Volunteers also offered emotional support and comfort kits containing personal care items and stuffed animals for the children.
In the coming days, Red Cross staff and volunteers will remain available to help those affected by the fire as they navigate the road to recovery.
The Red Cross relies on the generosity of local donors to help families prepare, respond and recover from disasters in the North Country. Visit redcross.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS to donate to Disaster Relief.
People can also volunteer with the Red Cross and responding to home fires and other disasters in their community. Browse volunteer opportunities at redcross.org/volunteer.
