POTSDAM – A representative of the engineering company overseeing the rebuilding work on Potsdam’s wastewater treatment plant and pump told the village board at its Nov. 18 meeting that the work “is winding down.”
Matt Cooper of Barton & Loguidice, DPC told trustees contractors are working through punchlists of remaining items that should take them perhaps into the second week of December.
Of the $13 million dedicated to the project, the money is 95% expended, and that optional work could be done to use up the 5% “retainage” that had been reserved for contingencies but has not been used, but could be expended to do further recommended work. Cooper said he is pursuing quotes to replace the plant’s clarifiers or only their drives as part of the optional work list.
