CANTON -- The Canton Town Board is expected to approve the 2020 budget at its regular meeting Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. at the municipal building on Main Street.
The board held a public hearing on the coming year's fiscal plan on Nov. 6.
The budget calls for an increase in total appropriations to $2,770,026 over the current year's $2,838,998.
The amount raised by taxes will be $1,036,824, which is still beneath the state mandated tax cap amount.
The proposed tax rate for 2020 for town residents will be $2.70 per $1,000 of assessed property value; this compares to the rate of $2.65 per $1,000 in the current year.
