HAMMOND -- Residents of the United Helpers Ogdensburg Campus were recently entertained at the Hammond Fair by the 10th Mountain Division Band.
The band is based at Fort Drum and is commanded by Chief Warrant Officer Two Timothy F. Wallace (Forward Commander), and Sergeant First Class Kenneth Wiesman (Rear Commander).
Half of the band is deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where they are performing throughout the country for U.S. military and coalition forces from over 30 nations.
Additionally, soldiers from the band are participating in the Operational Mentor Liaison Team Program to assist in training and fostering the development of the Afghanistan National Army Band.
