I guess I'm from "the old school" when holidays were observed on the dates they actually happened (this was before the Monday Holiday Law went into effect).
I more or less forgot that Memorial Day fell on Monday, May 25 this year as my brain was looking at my calendar and saying that Memorial Day is falling on Sunday, May 31 and Monday, June 1, will be a holiday. Well, it didn't happen that way.
So…the story I had submitted to North Country Now May 22 didn't make it in time for printing in the May 26 issue. So here again on this Friday, I'm asking you for a great big favor, for the benefit of those graduating senior students of the Parishville High School. I'm not too savvy about many things using electronic devices, especially getting things out to social media.
So, if you can somehow use whatever means, at your disposal, to electronically inform your readers about the scholarship program that will expire at midnight Monday, June 1, I would really, really appreciate whatever you can do for the Potsdam Kiwanis Club's scholarship to a graduating Parishville High School senior.
I need to calm the turbulent and stormy waters of my fellow Kiwanians. In doing so, I'll be able to take my "helmet" off from being "kicked in the head" due to my blunder.

Potsdam Kiwanis Club, Communications Chair
