SOAR North Country has received its first AARP Life @ 50+ business award from St. Lawrence County Chapter #2831 of AARP, presented at the chapter’s recent luncheon at the Lobster House in Norwood.
Receiving the award on behalf of the board of directors and the entire membership of SOAR were Chairman Mark Coleman and Curriculum Co-Chair Jim Barry. The plaque, which hangs in the SOAR office on the SUNY Potsdam campus, recognizes the leadership of SOAR’s board of directors in its efforts to advance the organization as a member-directed learning group.
The meeting was an opportunity for the two groups to share information about their programs that serve the county’s retirees.
